As a follow up and continuation of the 3 day drug abuse awareness campaign, ambassadors have been nominated by management of Samartex, to continuously spread the message in Samreboi and its environs, throughout 2019 and beyond. The ambassadors have been grouped as follows: Samartex Football Club, Samreboi Opinion Leaders, Samartex School, Samartex Hospital Outreach Team and Samartex TWU. The ambassadors would be responsible for keeping the message alive, and continuously reminding and educating the general public on the damaging effects of drugs and substance abuse. 2018 saw significant strides in the advancement of healthcare provision. Patients have had to endure undue stress when directed to travel to bigger cities to undertake certain investigations or to undertake certain specialist procedures not available at our hospital. The decision was thus taken to further expand these services. The laboratory saw a significant injection of capital in the areas of Biochemistry, Blood Transfusion and Haematology. A series of Chemistry Analyzers, Clotting analyzers and Haematology Analyzers were procured to address these issues. On Wednesday 23rd January 2019, three ICT centers in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipal were commissioned in Samreboi, Asankragwa and Wassa Dunkwa respectively. The ICT Centers are purposefully meant for the exposure of all category of persons, to basic computer skills acquisition, as well as upgrade. The courses/programmes have been put under 3 broad categories namely, Adults in ICT, School Kids in ICT and Artisans in ICT.
