Samartex donates GH¢5,000.00 to Ghana Education Service on November 19, 2018 in support of Training Junior High School Pupils as Peer Educators for HIV Alert School Model Programme in Metro/Municipal/Districts of the Western Region . The programme which emerged as a result of high incidence of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections including HIV within the Region, seeks to use this medium to help and minimize the high tendency rates of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections among the youth.

On November 15, 2018, the Managing Director of Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited, Mr. Richard Nsenkyire, the Senior Medical Office, Dr. Charles Miezah and the Human Resource Manager, Mr. Thomas Assasie-Gyimah were on air at Royal FM (Asankrangwa) to officially launch a 3-day Drug Awareness Campaign scheduled for 30th November, 2018 and 1st and 2nd December, 2018 in Samreboi. This awareness programme has become urgently necessary due to the recent effects and implications of drug abuse in Samreboi and the municipality as a whole, some of which were fatal, with toxicology tests proving traits of substance abuse. The Samartex Spelling Challenge is a Spelling Bee and Quiz Competition pioneered by the Managing Director of Samartex Timber and Plywood Company Limited, Mr. Richard Nsenkyire. The Competition is set to commence on January 2019 and was preceded by an Inauguration and Training Programme on November 16, 2018 for Teacher coaches from all the 130 Primary schools within the Municipality scheduled to take part in the competition. The 2018 new intakes (34 Apprentices) for NVTI certified Apprenticeship Training Programme, had their orientation on 17th September 2018, at the Samartex Apprentices Training Room. Some managers, masters and old students (employed by Samartex) graced the occasion to usher the apprentices into Samartex and advise them on discipline, career building and rules and regulations of the company. The 2018 Workers Day Holiday, was a packed event like all other May Day celebrations which are a traditional street carnival feast/event for the entire Western Region, organized by Samartex, right in Samreboi. The events commenced with a march- past by workers of various companies in Samreboi, followed by a long service Award Ceremony for Samartex employees. A team of doctors, nurses, health assistants, midwives and laboratory technician from Samartex Hospital, carried out four separate outreaches from 16th May to 27th June 2018. These outreaches were focused on hypertension control and STDS management and were carried out in the following villages and communities : Ohiamatuo, Kokoase, Simpa, Abekoase, Amoaku, Mumuni, Woman no Good, Toropan, Gravel Yard.
